1. Take The First Step
Viewing a variation of rings online can be helpful when looking for some inspiration. But now it is time to take the next step and contact one of our award winning team members to book your complimentary consultation. You can contact our team through email at Info@comminsandco.ie or by phone at +353 (0)1 4422472. Alternatively, you can just pop into us in store. Our jewellers is located on the first floor of the Powerscourt Townhouse in the heart of Dublin’s city centre.
2. Meet With Our Team
Upon arrival, you will be met by one of our consultants. Their main objective is to use their years of expertise to take your idea and turn it into a realistic vision. We will first examine your engagement ring in detail taking note of its key features. This will give us clarity on some important factors such as whether on not the engagement ring will allow a wedding band to naturally sit flush with it. Some engagement rings have a rail fit for this purpose, whereas some vintage inspired piece sit low on the finger. Understanding your engagement rings design will allow our consultants to best advise you on what wedding band styles will compliment your engagement ring most. We can then go through the aesthetics, looking at the metal and diamond options. We offer natural and lab grown diamonds, moissanites and gemstones to be set.
3. Designing And Creating Your Ring
Once one of our consultants have finalised the design and an agreement on price with you, they will take a 10% deposit and the next stage of the process is to initiate the design of your wedding band. Our consultants will meet with our designer to go through the final design in detail. The designer will then take a 3D print of your engagement ring if required, and will then draw your wedding band using our matrix technology. We will then forward you on a 3D render of your wedding band you to see a visual representation of what the finished piece will look like. This will give you the opportunity to make any tweaks if desired or to push forward with the process.
Once confirmed, our designer will print a wax mold of the ring and send it odd to our Dublin based caster. The desired metal will be casted and issued back to our Dublin based studio. We will then issue the ring to the Assay office located in Dublin Castle for the metal to be checked and stamped. Finally, if required we will have our diamond setter set the desired stones and our master goldsmith to polish the ring and conduct a thorough inspection of the ring to ensure it meets our extremely high standards. It is worth noting this process takes up to 4 weeks depending on the design and its difficulty.
4. Collection Day
Upon completion of the ring, one of our team members will contact you through email to arrange a date and time that is suitable for you to visit the store to view your finished wedding ring. This is the most rewarding part of the process as you will see what was once just a flickering thought be brought to life.
The ring will come with an invoice for proof of purchase and valuation so that you can insure your cherished piece.
